  • Overview

    The Performance Evaluation Specialist coordinates and conducts field and simulation performance evaluations in order to qualify SiteWise employees under Department of Transportation Operator Qualification Rule.  The Performance Evaluation Specialist will work closely with the Training department and the Operator Qualification (OQ) Administrator to ensure timely evaluations and re-evaluations are conducted.

    Responsibilities

    • Conducts field and simulation performance evaluations in accordance with SiteWise and OQ provider policies.
    • Must act with the highest regard for the SiteWise Core Values
    • Works with supervisors and superintendents to schedule evaluations
    • Maintains clear and open communication with SiteWise Operations Leadership, SQT, and the evaluated employee as to the outcome of evaluations
    • Maintains a clean and safe working environment
    • Travels to job sites and the training yard to conduct evaluations
    • Provides advice, guidance and support to failed employees and recommends actions to the Training Manager
    • Performs safety and quality audits
    • Provides monthly status reports
    • Maintains certifications and evaluator status with third party OQ providers
    • Contributing to the decision making and planning processes of the SQT team
    • Performs other related duties as assigned (special project, company activities, etc.)

    Qualifications

    • 3-5 years as a PE pipe fitter in the utility industry
    • 3-5 years experience as an equipment operator
    • Foreman or supervisory experience
    • Registered evaluator in MEA, EWN, and Veriforce - highly desired
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills (Bi-lingual highly desired)

    • Visual Color Discrimination — The ability to match or detect differences between colors, including shades of color and brightness.
    • Deductive Reasoning — The ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
    • Inductive Reasoning — The ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (includes finding a relationship among seemingly unrelated events).
    • Written Comprehension — The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.
    • Written Expression — The ability to communicate information and ideas in writing so others will understand.
    • Speech Recognition — The ability to identify and understand the speech of another person.

    • Scheduling Work and Activities — Scheduling events, programs, and activities, as well as the work of others.
    • Evaluating Information to Determine Compliance with Standards — Using relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards.
    • Performing General Physical Activities — Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
