There are many avenues in which our Locator Technicians can work under. One being, our watch and protect program. This is where the locator is responsible to make sure there is no conflict for high or intermediate pressure gas lines. Another program is where the locator uses technology to sense underground utilities to conduct audits of the lines underground. We are looking for both experienced and inexperienced locators to join our team.
•Utilizing maps / blueprints must demonstrate ability to interpret facilities to determine the presence of underground utilities
•Locate technicians work in and walk over all types of terrain (grass, gravel, ditches, etc) in and around construction zones and residential, commercial, industrial and rural areas in all types of weather conditions
•Locators will also remove and replace manhole lids and must be able to lift up to 75 pounds periodically in order to properly locate buried lines
•Use laptop computer or other electronic devices to receive and document status of excavation notices
•Work hours fluctuate and employees must be willing to be on call, both during normal business hours and after normal business hours
•Self-starter, with the desire and ambition to work alone
•Able to meet deadlines
•Good customer and communication skills
•Good written and oral skills
•Knowledge of OSHA Safety codes and regulations preferred but not required
Customer oriented and motivated with excellent communication, organizational and problem-solving skills
•Able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines
•Valid driver's license with good driving record and be able to pass pre-employment drug and criminal background screen
•High school diploma or equivalent
•Experience working with underground utilities desired
