SiteWise Corporation, a Colorado owned and operated utility contractor, has provided turnkey construction and engineering services since 1987. These services include a wide variety of distribution/mainline construction, gas operations and maintenance, and meter/system interface services. SiteWise service offerings are enhanced by additional departments dedicated to utility locating, hydro excavation, subsurface utility engineering and route mapping.

 

Excellent opportunity for an experienced Purchasing and Inventory Manager who has experience in the construction industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking all aspects of construction materials; inventory and purchasing/vendor management as well as overseeing the full operations of the warehouse.  

The position will be located at our warehouse facility in Henderson, CO.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for coordinating and executing the day to day operations of the Purchasing/Warehouse department.
  • Optimizes and actively manages the work hours of employees and assets of the company.
  • Proactively manages the business and provides feedback.
  • Develop, implement, monitor, and manage policies, procedures, and metrics to ensure a safe workplace, efficient customer service, and continuous improvement for warehousing and distribution operation.
  • Ability to collaborate with other business functions to ensure customer requirements and productivity is achieved.
  • Track and manage the movement of material into and out of production facilities.
  • Track budgets for tools, materials, and supplies.
  • Create/maintain accurate material, tools, and supply reports.
  • Provide accurate monthly inventory counts.
  • Create/maintain inventory metrics.
  • Manage stock levels to ensure optimal availability of material and tools without compromising service levels and stock levels.
  • Create and receive purchase orders.
  • Track materials and tools using enterprise software.
  • Maintain an organized work environment.
  • Communicate and negotiate with internal customers, external suppliers, and external clients.
  • Responsible for gas meter inventory.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of all tooling.
  • Adherence to all warehousing, tool shop, and job-related health and safety regulations.
  • Manage layout of warehouse and site to ensure efficient and effective use of space.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent and completion of some college courses preferred.
  • 5-10 years’ experience in the construction industry.
  • 5-10 years of purchasing and inventory experience.
  • 3+ years prior management experience.
  • Software experience: Warehouse Management Systems, Tool Tracking Solution, etc.
  • Desirable software experience: Viewpoint, SAP, etc.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office. Must have intermediate level experience with MS Excel
  • Ability to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods, often under adverse climatic conditions. 
  • Ability to lift up to 75lbs multiple times during a work shift.
  • Ability to understand and follow specific oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to work well independently and as a part of a team.
  • Ability to pass motor vehicle, criminal background check, and comply with drug-free workplace policy.
  • Strong communication skills, instructs employees on company core values, company and client policies, and safety policies.
  • Effectively communicates via email, phone and in person with appropriate parties, keeping management, inspectors and customers apprised of progress, completion and or pertinent issues.
  • Strong customer service skills; ability to build relationships with employees and clients.
  • Problem solving skills, conflict resolution with an eye towards customer service while keeping company’s best interest in mind.
  • Ability to respond quickly and appropriately to customers and resolve issues.
  • Strong organizational skills in a fast-paced environment.
