Overview

 

SiteWise Corporation, a Colorado owned and operated utility contractor, has provided turnkey construction and engineering services since 1987. These services include a wide variety of distribution/mainline construction, roustabout, gas operations and maintenance, and meter/system interface services.  SiteWise service offerings are enhanced by additional departments dedicated to utility locating, hydro excavation, subsurface utility engineering and route mapping. 

We currently have a need for a Pothole Operator in our Reconstruction Department at SiteWise. We are looking for someone to add value to SiteWise by performing Pothole/Hydro excavation consistent with SiteWise’s operating procedures and in compliance with customer requirements.

 

 

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Complete all work assigned to them in compliance with SiteWise procedures and customer requirements.
  • Use Company provided resources in a manner that is productive and protects the assets from damage and theft.
  • Responsible for their safety, the safety of other SiteWise employees and the customers and general public that come into contact with their work activities.
  • At the completion of assigned work, follow up with job site foreman and or your direct report if supporting a bore crew the pothole operator is responsible for communicating with the bore lead.
  • Responsible for the timely and accurate completion of work orders, and dailies. Submit all complete and accurate paperwork to their Supervisor/Manager in a timely manner.
  • Advise the Operations Supervisor of any conditions in the field that will change our ability to perform the work as required or complete the work on time. Follow any corrective action provided by the Operations Supervisor.
  • Train and direct the duties of the pothole operator doing hydro excavation.
  • Perform daily and weekly truck inspections, truck / trailer paperwork including DOT fuel log, immediately notify the Operations Supervisor of any truck / trailer repairs that are needed or performed.
  • Make sure that truck is fully equipped with tools, mirrors, tape measures, paint, core bits, core drill, backfill material, pot hole plates etc. and that the equipment operates properly.

Qualifications

  • Operating Vehicles, Mechanized Devices, or Equipment - Running, maneuvering, navigating, or driving vehicles / trailer or mechanized equipment.
  • Controlling Machines and Processes - Using either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate machines or processes (not including computers or vehicles).
  • Inspecting Equipment, Structures, or Material - Inspecting equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
  • Handling and Moving Objects - Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things.
  • Communicating with Supervisors, Peers, or Subordinates - Providing information to supervisors, foreman, bore lead, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, or in person.
  • Getting Information - Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources.
  • Monitor Processes, Materials, or Surroundings - Monitoring and reviewing information from materials, events, or the environment, to detect or assess problems.
  • Making Decisions and Solving Problems - Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
  • Performing General Physical Activities - Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
  • Evaluating Information to Determine Compliance with Standards - Using relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards. Understanding locate laws and practices, what color paint represents what utility. The safe eight and what they mean.
  • Documenting/Recording Information - Entering, transcribing, recording, storing, or maintaining information in written or electronic/magnetic form.
