SiteWise Corporation, a Colorado owned and operated utility contractor, has provided turnkey construction and engineering services since 1987. These services include a wide variety of distribution/mainline construction, gas operations and maintenance, and meter/system interface services. SiteWise service offerings are enhanced by additional departments dedicated to utility locating, hydro excavation, subsurface utility engineering and route mapping.


This is an integral position that provides strategic and tactical leadership, direction, implementation and maintenance of controls for SiteWise’s Construction, Reconstruction and/ or Engineering Service offerings.


It is imperative that this person upholds the corporate core values and leads by example. He or she will anticipate internal and external customer needs and position the department to uphold the corporate vision, mission, growth initiatives, values, and meet future business needs in a competitive environment.  This person will be accountable for attaining organizational goals and objectives, deploying and implementing corporate policies. He or she will provide leadership for a construction staff of approximately 4 to 8 direct reports, 6 to 18 Supervisors/Foremen and 12 to 60 crews comprised of 60-150 employees within the Denver metropolitan and Front Range geographic service area. Areas of coverage may also extend into different states. The successful candidate will establish and maintain excellent customer relationships with all clients. Is responsible for the safety, quality, training, and profitability for assigned departments.


  • Responsible for the coordination and execution of day-to-day operations of the departments under his/her supervision. Optimizes and actively manages the work hours of employees and assets of the company.
  • Responsible for ensuring the safety, quality, training and standards of both the company and each individual client are met. Monitors and reports damages and claims.
  • Is expected to have a clear understanding and working knowledge of the financial statements of each department under his/her supervision, identifying and implementing improvements for the profitability of each work unit.
  • Develops, tracks and controls an annual operating budget for the area, including developing ways to reduce costs and improve profitability.
  • Develops, tracks and controls an annual capital expenditure budget for the area, including equipment and tools.
  • Responsible for the daily completion of all the necessary paperwork required by the company and clients.
  • Integrates the organization's business plan, goals and action items, including financial forecasts through day-to-day decisions and communications.
  • Lead effective and efficient meetings and presentations with internal personnel, customers and/or clients.  
  • Develops leadership among employees, selects and maintains a multi-functional, diversified, well-trained, motivated and empowered workforce. Models innovative approaches. Actively participates in the recruiting, interviewing and hiring of personnel.
  • Administers compliance of fleet policies and procedures. Provides leadership to optimize vehicle utilization and minimize life cycle cost.
  • Ensures compliance with numerous federal, state and local laws, regulations codes and ordinances, e.g. Operator Qualification, CDOT, EPA, OSHA, PUC, etc., to include in OQ performance evaluations.
  • Participates in industry/professional forums in order to stay abreast of industry direction and new technologies.
  • Administers compliance of procedures and reporting for the effective management of material inventory. Drives the accurate collection and entry of data in tracking system including location of material, quantity on hand, value, etc.
  • Proactively plans and communicates material requirements to ensure timely receipt of materials to support construction schedules.
  • Manages contracts and service agreements to protect SiteWise interests.
  • Initiates cost estimates and proposals for new and existing work.
  • Delivers continuous improvement in productivity, safety, quality and cost.
  • Proactively manages material exceptions and provides feedback to Vice President and owners on critical matters.
  • Proficient in the successful mentoring, coaching and discipline of department employees for the improvement of performance and preparation for additional responsibilities.


  • Job planning and execution for multi-project coordination, including timely completion of assigned jobs.
  • Strong working knowledge of coordination of materials, permits, Storm Water BMP’s and traffic control for scheduled jobs.
  • Ability to assess construction stages of residential and commercial projects to effectively schedule the installation of dry utilities or the execution of engineering services.
  • Strong communication skills; instructs employees on company core values, company and client policies and procedures, and safety policies.
  • Effectively communicates via email, phone, and in-person with appropriate parties, keeping management, inspectors and customers apprised of progress, damages, claims, completion and/or pertinent issues.
  • Strong working knowledge of general procedures for installing, maintaining, and repairing dry utilities; job site hazards, safety equipment and procedures pertinent to working on and around various utility lines; tools, equipment, materials, and supplies required for installing, maintaining, and repairing dry utility lines; traffic control procedures and practices; utilizing barricades and traffic cones; basic mini excavator, trencher and related equipment operation procedures; Polyethylene (P.E.) fusion equipment and procedures. Steel welding, tapping and stopping processes and procedures. The ability to oversee the execution of Plan and Profile, pot holing, boring, locating, and design of utility facilities.
  • Ability to prepare clear, accurate and concise written reports of work completed, including information about damages, claims, performance evaluations and other pertinent requirements on a timely basis.
  • Problem solving skills and conflict resolution with a focus on customer service and relationship management while keeping company’s best interest in mind.
  • Active participant in industry associations. Travel is a requirement, at about 5%.

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma and completion of a bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Five or more years of management experience.
  • Ten or more years of construction experience.
  • Material procurement and material management experience.
  • Proven leadership skills, and excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills. A bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.
